“The Duke is Wicked” is the third book in the wonderful ‘League of Lords’ series from Tracy Sumner. After experiencing the excellent first 2 books in the series, I have been eagerly awaiting this one. And I learned what is now my new favorite word for tipsy or inebriated: Sozzled. I hope you’ve already had the pleasure of reading the previous books in this series, but if you haven’t don’t worry because you can definitely enjoy this story as a stand-alone. I will warn you that you’ll wan

Thank you BookSirens for a copy of the book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Yes, this is everything I'd been hoping for from this series! I found these characters to be much more well-thought out and relatable than in the previous two books. That also could just be my bias towards the Duke already, plus the fact that I am the (North) American who is rowdy and very different from Europeans living in Europe.

This series, in my opinion, is just

Tracy Sumner, where have you been all my life! I’ve never read anything like the league of lords series and it’s exactly what I needed — such an enchanting mix of the historical romances I grew up on that also brings the itch-scratching satisfaction of the paranormal/supernatural genre, and did I mention they’re hot as hell? 🔥 Once you start I can guarantee you won’t get any work done until you’ve finished them all. Love this and can’t wait to read the story of Simon and his ghost later this yea ...more

Romance burns through the pages quite literally in this, the 3rd installment of The League of Lords series. The story follows Sebastian Tremont, the Duke of Ashcroft, aka fireballs, and Delaney Temple, a notorious American miss, with the extraordinary gift of speed reading and memory as the navigate the treacherous waters of society rules and their own acceptance of their supernatural abilities. In my opinion, this is the best book of the series so far. I received an advance review copy for free ...more

This is the third book in the League of Lords series about aristocrats (mostly aristocrats) with paranormal abilities in the Victorian era. I haven’t read the previous two, but it was reasonably easy to pick up the general context and rules of the world, and the characters who had obviously featured in previous books were given a light introduction so we had their backstory. I think it stands fairly well alone.

The Duke of the title is Ashcroft, Sebastian as we know him for much of the book, who

Enjoyed reading this story. Not my favourite of the series though - prefer #2. There were some small parts when it got boring for me, but overall it was o.k. 3.5☆

A fun, cute slow burn with a bit of magical action/adventure thrown in.

[What I liked:]

•The prologue reminds me of Frozen—a young child is blessed (cursed?) with a supernatural gift, who is cowed into hiding it. This inspired empathy in me for Sebastian early on, and made me want to follow his journey to finding self-acceptance.

•The prose is decent: easy to follow, a good balance of description and dialogue, with nice touches of wit & humor.

•I enjoyed the descriptions of how the supernatu

If you like Victorian romances, enemies-to-lovers stories, or paranormal adventures this book may be your next read. Tracy Summer has managed to wrap all of this into her latest installments of her League of Lords series (which can be read alone but would probably more satisfying if you had read the others preceding this one).

Delaney is a smart, competitive, and very talented woman who is bursting with attitude and life. Sebastian has closed himself off except for a chosen few because he is terr

Delaney is just right for him! She's an American who is running from a secret which she and her twin are desperate to keep. Besides this, she has an unique ability which can help the League unravel their mysteries.
He is Sebastian, the Duke who founded the League, a safe haven for those with abilities they need to conceal. He is a Fire Starter, a Duke with fire in his fingertips who struggles to contain his ability.
This story is a well written fantasy romance in which you get to meet

The plot and world of this book are great and very creative and the characters all have their own distinctive voices and you really find yourself caring for them as they are. I will admit I'm a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope, but this is a prime example of it being done well. As the third in the series, I think it is the perfect addition to follow the first two books and will satisfy the Bridgerton itch we all know too well as of late. This book is an easy read that lets the mind relax a ...more

A beautifully written paranormal.
What an awesome story Sebastian and Delaney were so cool! I enjoyed this fantasy romance a great deal. Reading about the talents that the league has was great. I loved the setup at the end for Simon can’t wait to read his story! The book is beautifully written with great dialogue between all the characters. I am so glad I downloaded this book from BookSprout. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

THE DUKE IS WICKED is the third book in the League of Lords series and finally, our Fireball gets his story.

Bless him, he has done so much for his friends, regardless of his own reputation with the Ton. He has an unspoken arrangement with Lady Nuisance but fate has a way of walking all over what practicality may decide is the right thing to do. In this instance, he is besotted with one half of Trouble Two, and Lady Nuisance is besotted with the other. Sounds easy then, right? Wrong!

I knew this was the 3rd book, but it wasn't a great stand-alone effort. There was so much half-baked detail that clearly came from previous books that I was irritated most of the book. I really wanted a better explanation of Delaney and how her story really connected to the League. It felt like the author jumped over scenes without finishing them, leaving the reader wondering what happened.

I was provided with an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Oh, I love this series! Full of magic, twists and turns, and steamy love affairs there isn’t much else you could ask for!

While I don’t love how bossy and temperamental the boys get at times, I do love a happy ending! I can’t wait to keep reading!

While I received a free copy as an ARC from the author, all opinions are my own.

I did not know this was the third in a series when I got it to read. It was an enjoyable, well told story which left me needing to go back and read books one and two and then get book four when it comes out. Sebastian may be your typical tortured gorgeous male main character but he is different enough to keep your interest. Delaney could also fall into the innocent female lead, not afraid to take what she wants, but she still has quirks enough to make her someone I would like to know. They share ...more

It is a welcome return to Tracy’s Victorian world featuring a diverse group of people who have various supernatural abilities and must learn to live with their powers whilst protecting each other from the dangers facing them from the outside world. The Duke is Wicked is #3 in the steamy Victorian paranormal romance series

Sebastian Tremont, Duke of Ashcroft who has been plagued with his ‘gift/curse’ of being able to spontaneously start fires all his life. Who is part of the "League of Lords" is extremely protective of the League. He doesn't trust outsiders & definitely doesn't believe he has the right to have love in his life, because of his so called GIFT.

The series is pure gold, no doubt about it. The world of hidden gifts that torment the heroes and heroines of this world is very relatable and understandable. The camaraderie that has built up between each of the characters and the supporting characters is enough to warm hearts it keeps you coming back to read the next in the series.

The hero has been there for each of the previous characters and is looking for a wife. His gift of starting fires is getting too much and he needs an heir quick and

Oh my what can I say about this story of enemies to friends to lover's or are they. This story can be read as a stand alone but you will lose so much of why the characters act like they do. A family of misfits, all with supernatural gifts. No one is who he or she seems. All have secrets and desires hidden behind past hurts and loneliness.
Sebastian Tremont is the fifth Duke of Ashcroft, something he never wanted. He was the third son and went to war to get away from an abusive father only to come

“A superpowered twist on Victorian romance! Witty dialogue and steamy sensuality.”

Award-winning author Tracy Sumner’s storytelling career began when she picked up a historical romance on a college beach trip, and she fondly blames LaVyrle Spencer for her obsession with the genre. She’s a recipient of the National Reader’s Choice, and her novels have been translated into Dutch, G
